When was the last time you experienced real wonder

When was the last time you experienced real wonder? The kind of stop-you-in-your-tracks, pick-you-up-off-the-floor kind of wonder?

We throw the word "wonderful" around pretty haphazardly today. Usually, we mean that something was extraordinarily good or great.

But the way the word 'wonder' is used in Isaiah 9:6 when it describes Jesus as a "Wonderful Counselor" is more weighty and substantial.

I invite you to read more and discover that Jesus is more than just a wonderful counselor. He is a Wonder of a Counselor. He's truly wonder-full.

God's been so very gracious to fill our hearts and bellies with good things this last week, and we're giving him thanks for it all. 🙏

The holiday of giving thanks may be past, but hopefully the spirit lives on in the coming weeks.

I know sometimes the book of Revelation is scary.

I know sometimes the book of Revelation is scary. We don't understand all the apocalyptic language and so we avoid it altogether.

But I think this is a mistake. DYK that the book of Rev is the only one that claims you'll receive a special blessing when you read it and study it? (Rev 1:3) (I mean we know we'll be blessed when we read Scripture, but this is an EXTRA blessing!)

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is the culmination of human history! There are parallels in it to Genesis and it at this feasting table, all that is sad will be undone.

According to Revelation 19:6-9, here are some of the blessings we'll enjoy at this final (and eternal) feast.

Hello, I'm Cara, and I write to encourage women to enjoy spending time with God. 👋

Maybe it's because for the longest time in my life my quiet times were more of a duty, than a delight.

It was a daily box I checked that made me "feel" better about my Christian life. ✅

When I came across the term "otium sanctum" or holy leisure in a book, it flipped a switch for me.

It changed my whole perspective of I 'should' be in the Word, to I 'get' to be in the Word. God intended for time with him to be a leisurely activity.

Something you want to do, like hanging out with a friend.

When Jesus met the woman at the well in John 4, we see a fascinating conversation unfold.

Jesus broke through all of the walls that she tried to put up, including race, gender, morality, religious barriers.

She had lived a sordid past, and was clearly uncomfortable by his knowledge of her life.

But isn't it good news, that Jesus doesn't offer salvation, or living water, only to those who have it all together? He's looking for people like you and me, and like the woman at the well, who had a broken cistern that could hold no water. 💦

So come weary, come thirsty, and come ready to have your thirst quenched forever when you come to The well of living water.
