I learned this, as I was writing the book, and I have to remind myself of it as I feel stressed and behind in my workload.

Leisure, true leisure, is not inactivity, it’s a soul at rest, no matter what’s happening around you.

You must die in order to live. You must be humble so God can exalt you. And you must pursue Christ with relentless energy to find rest.

That's holy leisure.

Holy leisure results from an overflowing joy from being in God's presence.

The next time you open up your Bible, don't do it for the checkmark. Don't do it to keep up with your through-the-Bible-in-a-year plan. Don't do it to say you did.

Do it to find holy leisure for your soul.

🎉Happy New Year, friends!🎉

This morning I journaled through many evidences of God’s sweet kindnesses and mercies to me in the last year.

I love the song Auld Lang Syne and it's reference to a “cup of kindness.”

As we raise our cup of kindness and look back on all that’s been, I’m reminded that sweetness isn’t just something we taste—it’s something we receive.

“How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth.” (Psalm 119:103)

May you spend some sweet moments savoring what the Lord has given you this year—every grace, every lesson, every hardship and step into 2026 with thankful hearts and open hands.

Here’s a cup of kindness raised to you in remembrance of God’s sweet kindness to us without fail… every year!🍩🥂

I look forward to sharing more with you in the year of our Lord, 2026!
